Condition Guide

Mint

In like new, flawless condition.

Near Mint

Primarily like new. Decal is well intact with straight corners and no creasing. May have very minor imperfections that are primarily only visible under angled light and close inspection.

Excellent

Primarily like new, but may have some very minor imperfections, such as: very minor localized creasing*, minor amounts of texture variation, and minor texture spotting**.

Very Good

May have some imperfections, such as: localized creases, minor amounts of texture variation, texture spotting, minor curling, and localized areas of dirt. Decal is still considered well intact with straight or only slightly damaged corners.

Good

May have creasing, but only two of them may cover the width of the decal. Visually, the decal is still considered aesthetically pleasing despite having some additional imperfections, which may include: texture variation, dirt, mild curling, and texture spotting. Corners may be damaged, but in overall good condition.

Fair

Occasionally a fair decal is sold if it is considered unusually rare, or of particular importance. Fair decals may have moderate to heavy amounts of creasing, and various and significant imperfections. It is still considered to be intact and of value.

Poor

We do not sell.

*Localized creasing
:

Creases that are sustained to one particular area and are no more than 3/4" across.

**Texture spotting:

Texture spotting is normal with vintage decals. It usually appears as small, dotted, and clear or very faintly white colored marks that appear differently from the remainder of the decal. Typically texture spotting is more visible under close inspection and light and does not take much away from the overall visual appeal of the decal. Decals with heavy amounts of texture spotting are not usually sold, but if they are it will be noted and price will be reduced.

Year Estimations

Decals year estimates are made by assessing art work style, maker, condition, packaging, similarity to other decals, historical information, and any other supplemental information found associated with decals. While we cannot guarantee time frames, we do our best to estimate the general time frame in which the decals were produced.
